Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Overview
HeicLocal is a free, browser-based tool that converts HEIC/HEIF images to JPEG on your device. This policy explains what happens when you use the site at heiclocal-19x.pages.dev (and any future domain we publish for the same product).
In short: conversion runs locally in your browser. We do not operate a cloud conversion API, we do not require accounts, and we do not show ads.
What we process — and what we don’t
We do not receive your photo files for conversion. When you drop or select HEIC/HEIF files, decoding and JPEG encoding happen in your browser using client-side libraries (including heic2any). Image bytes are not uploaded to HeicLocal servers as part of the conversion flow.
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect names, email addresses, or payment details through this product — there is no checkout and no paid plan.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use advertising networks on this site.
Local processing
Conversion, quality settings, and downloads are handled on the device running your browser. Output JPG (or ZIP for batches) is generated locally and saved through your browser’s normal download mechanism.
Optional preferences — such as JPEG quality, language, and whether to auto-download a single JPG — may be stored in your browser’s localStorage so they persist between visits on that same browser and device. You can clear them by clearing site data in your browser settings.
Hosting and network logs
The site is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most websites, requesting pages, scripts, styles, and public assets may create standard edge or access logs at the hosting/CDN layer (for example IP address, user agent, URL path, and timestamps). Those logs are used for operating and securing the delivery of the site.
We do not use hosting logs to inspect or reconstruct the content of photos you convert, because those photos are not sent to us for conversion.
Cookies and local storage
HeicLocal does not rely on third-party advertising cookies. We may use browser localStorage (and similar browser storage) for preferences described above. If Cloudflare or the browser itself sets strictly technical cookies for delivery or security, that is outside the conversion feature and is not used by us to track photo content.
Analytics
We do not run third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics) on this site at the time of this update. If that ever changes, we will update this policy before enabling it.
Third-party scripts and sample files
Conversion libraries are served as same-origin vendor scripts bundled with the site, not loaded from unrelated third-party ad or tracker domains for the core converter.
Files under /samples/ are public demo assets we publish so you can try the tool. They are not user uploads and should not be treated as private.
Children
HeicLocal is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a channel we operate, contact us when a contact method is published (see below) so we can delete it where applicable.
International users
The site is available worldwide over the public internet. Because conversion is local, your photos do not need to leave your device for the HEIC→JPG feature. Hosting may involve infrastructure in multiple regions (typical for a global CDN). Where local consumer or privacy laws give you mandatory rights, those rights are not waived by this policy.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product or hosting setup evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you should review the revised policy.

We are not affiliated with Apple Inc. HEIC/HEIF are image formats used by Apple and others.
A dedicated contact email or form will be listed here when a custom domain and support channel are published. Until then, treat this page and the public site as the source of truth for how the tool handles privacy.
