Terms of Use
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Acceptance
By accessing or using HeicLocal (the site currently published at heiclocal-19x.pages.dev, and any future domain for the same product), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Service description
HeicLocal provides a browser-based tool to convert HEIC/HEIF images to JPEG. Conversion runs locally in your browser (including via libraries such as heic2any). We do not operate a cloud conversion endpoint that receives your image bytes for processing.
Public demo files under /samples/ are provided so you can try the tool; they are not user uploads.
Free service — no accounts
The tool is free to use. There are no user accounts, no paid plans, no checkout, and no advertising on the converter site as described in our Privacy Policy.
Availability may depend on your browser, device, and network connection to load the static site. Features may change as we improve the product.
Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the files you process and for complying with applicable law. You must only convert content you have the right to process. Do not use HeicLocal for unlawful material, or to infringe others’ rights.
You are responsible for keeping backups of important files. Browser conversion and downloads can fail due to device limits, browser bugs, or unsupported HEIC variants.
Intellectual property and trademarks
HeicLocal branding, site design, and original copy are owned by SqueezeCodex / HeicLocal or used under license. You may not copy the site wholesale or imply endorsement without permission.
We are not affiliated with Apple Inc. HEIC, HEIF, iPhone, and related names are trademarks or formats associated with Apple and other parties. Use of those terms is descriptive only.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
We do not warrant that conversion will succeed for every file, preserve every metadata field, or meet a particular quality target on every device.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SQUEEZECODEX / HEICLOCAL AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent allowed by applicable law. Because the service is free and does not charge fees, that amount may be zero where permitted.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be waived under mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site, including attempting to disrupt hosting, scrape in a way that harms service availability, reverse-engineer solely to build a competing clone of proprietary site assets beyond what is already public, or use automated abuse that overloads the CDN.
Normal use of the converter in a web browser, including reasonable automation for personal or legitimate workflows, is expected.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
